The Rhode Island Comic Throwdown
is a weekly Thursday night comedy contest at The Gas Lamp Grille, Billy Goodes Tavern and Jimmy’s Saloon Newport, Rhode Island starting in July 8th 2010.
Eligible Categories:
Professional:
Any comedian that is paid regularly for performing.
Amateur:
Any comedian that performs un- paid regularly.
Novice:
New comedian that is at the start of their performing.

Brian Beaudoin -The Biggest Comedian you have Never Heard Of Coming from small Rhode Island, Beaudoin is probably the only comedian who is bigger than his State. Beaudoin has been praised on the Comedy Circuit as “the next big thing” and they don’t just mean this is reference to his size. This guy has got talent, and is building an impressive following and resume to match. WINNER OF BEST COMEDIAN 09 as voted by the Providence Phoenix readers. Placed in the top 10 out of 100 at the Providence “Catch a Rising Star” Comedy Competition. Extensive Stand-Up experience, including events through the “Traveling Comedy Club” at renowned bars, banquet halls and special events. Winner of Providence Phoenix Best comic in RI for 2010, Providence Phoenix Best comic in RI for 2009, and placed 3rd in Boston's 2009 Beantown Comedy Riot.
Beginning his stand-up career in December, 2008, Mike headed straight to the top of the comedy arena by entering and placing in two major Rhode Island contests: the “Rhode Island Comedy Festival” with over 100 competing comics (taking 2nd place); and “Catch a ‘New’ Rising Star” with over 120 comedic contestants (taking 3rd place) - all within his first 4-months of stand-up. Now, in multiple New England venues, you can hear Mike deliver his very unique style of comedy - as he is legally deaf (AKA, The Deaf Comic). Although born hearing impaired, a little more than five years, ago, Mike regained his hearing after having Cochlear Implant surgeries in both ears.
